Organizational Information

The Chicago Round Dance Leaders' Society (CRDLS) was formed in October, 1977, by round dance leaders in the Chicago metroplex area. The society was created to stimulate greater participation in Round Dancing and to stress the enjoyment of Rounds for the pleasure of the dance. It was also organized in order to promote Round Dancing by:

Except for evenings when the Society is sponsoring one of its seasonal dances, it meets on the third Sunday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 605 W. Golf Road, Mt. Prospect, IL.

CRDLS members are recognized round dance leaders with experience in cueing and teaching. They are all members of Roundalab, the international non-profit educational organization for round dance leaders, and are licensed by BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) to cue and teach.

The Society members demonstrate round dance selections at each meeting and individual members vote on their choice for dances within each phase for Teaches of the Month and Rounds of the Quarter.
